Furniture Care Guide
Keep your furniture looking beautiful for life
Solid mango wood is built to last a lifetime — and with a little care, it will only get more beautiful with age. Here's how to keep your furniture looking its best.
Daily Dusting
Use a soft, dry or very slightly damp cloth to dust your furniture regularly. Always wipe in the direction of the grain. Avoid abrasive cloths or paper towels which can leave micro-scratches on the surface.
Dealing with Spills
Wipe spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth. Never let liquid sit on the wood surface. For stubborn marks, a cloth lightly dampened with mild soapy water works well — dry thoroughly afterwards.
Sunlight & Heat
Solid wood can fade and dry out with prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. Position your furniture away from windows where possible, and always use coasters and heat mats to protect the surface from hot drinks and dishes.
Oiling & Waxing
Apply a good quality furniture oil or natural beeswax once or twice a year to nourish the wood and maintain its natural lustre. Work in the direction of the grain and buff off any excess. This keeps the wood hydrated and looking its best.
Humidity
Wood is a natural material that responds to changes in humidity — it can expand in damp conditions and contract in dry ones. Aim to maintain a stable indoor humidity of 40–60%. A humidifier in winter can help prevent cracking.
Moving Your Furniture
Always lift furniture when moving rather than dragging it. Dragging can damage both the furniture feet and your floor. For larger pieces, ask for help — mango wood is wonderfully dense and can be surprisingly heavy.
